CarePacks is a non-profit organization—staffed and managed entirely by volunteers—that is dedicated to sending care packages to US deployed troops. Founded in 2004, CarePacks’ goal is to provide these soldiers with supplies to help improve their morale, mental health, and quality of life, and to remind soldiers that they are remembered by people “back home.”
Carepacks goal is to acquire names of soldiers to send packages to about every 2 months. We are CONTINUOUSLY fundraising money to pay for shipping costs and gladly accept donations of items to put into our packages.
If you know of a deployed service member who would like a package sent, please message us on Facebook the name and address so we can add them to our list or email the name address to firstname.lastname@example.org with the approximate month of return, if possible. We mail packages to service members from all branches of the service and they do not have reside in MA.
CarePacks’ care packages contain high-calorie food products, socks and t-shirts, personal care items, books, magazines, and more. Each package also contains at least one letter or card from a child so that the soldier who receives the package has a personal connection to someone back in the United States. CarePacks coordinates its efforts with local schools, Cub Scout packs, Boy and Girl Scout troops, churches, and other organizations to involve the community in the support process and to inform them about the needs of US military personnel.
CarePacks warehouse is located at 104 Pond Street, Weymouth, MA 02190. All packings are done on a Saturday morning beginning at 10 am. The dates are on our calendar and posted on our facebook page.
We sort any donations on the 3 Monday nights prior to a packing from 6 pm to 8 pm. and again post it on the calendar and facebook page. Community service hours are given during these times.
