One of the things we have heard from the soldiers we’ve spoken to (as well as their families and friends) is that they love to get cards and letter from anyone back home in the United States. It doesn’t matter who the letter is from.
At CarePacks, we want to include at least one letter or card with every package that we send out, so we need lots and lots of them. You won’t know who your letter is going to (and neither will we until we put it in the box!), so just write about anything that interests you. The letter can be long; it can be short. The key is to tell a little something about what’s happening back here in the USA. For instance, you can write about:
- how your soccer team is doing
- what instrument you play and why you like it
- something good that happened to you today
- what kinds of pets you have and what they are like
- drawings
- …and so much more!
Just make sure that the letter is positive, upbeat, and encouraging, because that’s what our soldiers need. And remember: you may or may not receive a letter back from a soldier, but they appreciate your notes just the same.
